Ithaca College Bands Alumni Reunion 2010

Due to overwhelming response, registration for this event is now closed.

As signs of spring become more common, so do thoughts about the upcoming Ithaca College Bands Alumni Reunion June 18-19, 2010. This reunion will be a golden opportunity to reconnect with friends who share an important part of your life, in places of days past, and where you have your educational roots.

This is Ithaca College’s first-ever band reunion and you’re invited to come back to campus and celebrate with all IC Band and Wind Ensemble alumni. In addition to getting to play with fellow IC grads again, there will be food, great conversation, and the chance to see the many changes that have happened over the years on the Ithaca College campus.

2010 BAND REUNION FAQs

Where are we staying if we choose to stay on campus?
On-campus housing is available. Reunion participants have a choice of being housed in the Quads or Emerson Hall (centrally air conditioned and with private bathrooms). Room assignment information will be provided to you at check-in. If you want to stay on campus, please be sure to register for on-campus housing using the enclosed Band Reunion registration form.

What if I want to stay in a hotel/motel off-campus?
To find Ithaca area lodging information, visit the web at www.visitithaca.com.

When we arrive on campus, where do we check in?
Check in will be Friday, June 18, from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. in McHenry Lobby, Whalen Center for Music. Parking is available in “J” Lot, behind the Towers, with a short walk across the Baker Walkway to an elevator leading down to McHenry Lobby. For on-campus maps/directions click here.

What is the concert dress?
Business casual. The concert is an informal sharing of music with fellow alumni. There will be a program, but do not feel pressure to wear the same formal attire (or have the same chops!) that you had when you were a student.

Instruments
Please bring your own instrument. If necessary, we will have Tuba, Percussion, and Baritone Sax available for you to use for the rehearsals and performance. Please indicate your instrument, and whether or not you will need to borrow one of the school’s instruments, on the attached Band Reunion registration form.

Do I really get to play?
Everyone who wishes to play will have the opportunity to play no matter the number of participants. If we have a lot of one instrument, we can double or rotate parts for this repertoire. If the response is incredible, we will form more than one ensemble.

I plan to bring my family. Will there be kids' activities?
The Campus Center Recreation Center will be open during the Friday evening and Saturday afternoon practices for use by registered youth (children under 16 must be supervised by a parent/guardian). In addition to the regular offerings of ping-pong, pool and board games, a big screen video game system will be set-up with age appropriate video games.
